The Tomogashima Lighthouse

Tomogashima Lighthouse is the eighth lighthouse built in Japan in 1872. It is a lighthouse designed by british engineer Richard Henry Brunton who designed Shionomisaki Lighthouse. It was relocated in Meiji 23 and is still active. It was certified by Ministry of Economy as "Modern industrial heritage group continuation"and it is registered as "Registered tangible cultural property (building)" in November, Heisei 20. The square where the Japan Standard Time Meridian passes is just adjacent to the light house.
